::nepaal is a Hungarian collective formed out of a jam session at Psychedelic Source Records as a way to put the equipment owned by Tibor Strauzs to good use by his son David. Killer spaced-out jams with a monster rhythm section. Each track on these two slabs clocks in at almost 10 minutes or more. If you’re a fan of something like Electric Moon or Kombynat Robotron this will be right in your wheelhouse. Head bobbing bass grooves with some serious guitar work while not going overly crazy. Did I say, Bass? give “Ante Ala” a listen. Subtle guitar with some echo-drenched effects complements an epic bass workout. The standout track for me is “Flying Mantra” which features a heavy groove and takes you through a couple of nice pace shifts. There’s not a lot to say here. You either like spaced-out jams or you don’t. In many ways, this could almost be one long track. But if this is your thing it’s one of those mind-melting experiences worthy of turning up to 11 on a Friday evening. Seems like this is a studio project but man what a concert it would be if they played live.
