I can stare at the band name forever and may never be able to pronounce it. Love these guys and was so happy to see them open up the 2019 Fuzz Club festival. Infectious grooves, driving beats, and distinctive vocal styles and you know you are listening to Vuelveteloca. Contra is the Chilean 4-piece’s 7th album. At times as heavy as can be mixing in classic rock with alt-rock but always with a unique beat on tracks like “Ciudades Subterráneas”. Then they can switch it up a bit with a more prog rock approach like on “La Sangre del Oro” or Puentes Etéreos. The standout track on this one for me is the opening track Un Millón de Anos which really feels like a classic track of theirs. My one gripe about this release is the 15 minute sides seems a bit short but it would be nice to squeak in an extra track or two. Some distictive style changes here but still staying close enough to what has worked for them in the past.
