Hailing from Chicago, Dark Fog creates sonic assault jams sure to satisfy the heavy guitar heads out there. This lo-fi approach may leave you checking your stylus to see if it’s gummed up with dust. I actually found myself able to decipher this better with the headphones on. From start to finish on these 13 tracks, it’s guitars and drums blazing nonstop. Sometimes reminiscent of the psych freakouts in early Krautrock and sometimes venturing into experimental jazz freakouts but it never loses the intensity or gives up on the wah-wah pedal. This one will keep the neighbors at bay if you are doing it right.
