Another top release in a year that is producing large numbers of high-quality efforts. Kombynot Robotron’s “Dickfehler Studio Treffen I” packs some seriously good jams into four excellent long-format pieces. Hailing from Kiel, Germany this four-piece have been cranking out the heavily Krautrock influenced jams since 2018. This particular release is a collection of live studio recordings that have been released on Drone Rock Records in a limited release of 150 on black splatter and 100 on clear vinyl.

Track one, “Sequoia” kicks off 13 minutes of Motorik bliss. starting off with a steady, almost b52’s like, guitar beat which quickly slips into a nice motorik beat, almost reminiscent of Joy Division’s “Incubation” with the steady driving bassline that slowly evolves into Kosmiche chaos heaven. “Pendo” completes side 1 with 8 minutes of more chaotic jam style rock. relying more on the heavy bass riff and pounding drums to carry the load while the 1970’s german guitar gently layers over the top. “Fontane” kicks off side two with a bluesy riff over a laid back rock beat. The album closes with “Holywood” a lengthy jam pice layered over a funky bassline with more jazz style drumming.

This one is getting alot of play here and really gets me in the mood to somehow get myself into a position where I can see these guys live because you know that’s going to be a killer show. If you get a chance to somehow get your hands on this one do so.
