This was an unexpected delight earlier this year. The continuing collaboration between Cardinal Fuzz (UK) and Centripetal Force (USA) has produced some outstanding releases, and this is no exception. Nashville ambient artist Eve Maret is a multi-instrumentalist known for propulsive rhythms and atmospheres. On Earth and Space, she strips the sound down to a more minimalist approach that lacks the more rhythmic approach and creates a more free-form, blissful approach that truly has a healing and meditative feel. The result is extremely beautiful and relaxing, with just a touch of glitch at times as knobs are twisted and faders manipulated to create subtle rhythmic nuances. The music is at its best when using the more drawn-out pads that just kind of hang in the air while your senses just float away. At a minimum, give this a listen, but by all means, I highly recommend grabbing a copy. Spacey electronic ambiance doesn’t get much better.
Released in an edition of only 100 by Cardinal Fuzz (UK) and Centripetal Force (USA). Hard to believe that there are copies available.
