Arcane allies are a band I first encountered on last years excellent split with Kombynat Robotron. Pulsing, almost dance like, beats with a fair amount of Kosmicsche exploration and improve guitar work permeate their sound with almost hint of jazz at times (especially on “Circulaiton” with the sax). The tracks here really do create a unique overall sound and vibe that part 70’s and part future. There is also a unique simplicity here with the instrumentation. While there are certainly effects they are not really changing whats going on or masking any playing. Everything is crystal clear and right up front.You really kind of can’t help but move when listening to this. It has a quite kind of sexiness to it.
