The UK’s Korb has had a busy year with some excellent releases. Here they have teamed up with the excellent El Hombre Al Agua from Canada to release an LP that is not a split but a transatlantic collaboration with a single track on each side. You are really getting the full range of both bands here from the psych jams of Korb and the meditative ambience and electronic bleeps an bloops of Dave Read’s synths. “Pathway To The Gods” starts off with some trippy electronic ambient pads and sweeps before the jam kicks in with the pulsating bassline and spacey effects.Theres a bit of a funky breakdown in the middle of the tune that leaps back to the 70’s before it gets back to its original form. “Chemistry and Chaos” starts off a bit darker with some drones and percussion and gets a bit experimental, almost threatening to break out into a bigger jam but keeps reigning itself in amidst a wash of electronics. At least for myself, headphones are where it’s at on this one with some nifty panning and stereo separation. I’ve been a fan of both bands so this collab really hits the spot.
