Pure meditative bliss. The 7th studio album from South Korea’s Tengger takes a minimalist approach to put your mind at ease. Not quite ambient and not quite glitch. Soft percussion keeps pace over the gentle voices and electronics. At times there are some callbacks to early Kosmische music like on the second track “Cicadada” which seems to be yanked out of the early 70s German scene from a band like Harmonia. The pieces on Earthing slowly evolve while always maintaining a certain minimalist approach at times mimicking nature itself producing a feeling of 3D space and outdoors. For the most part the album is more on the experimental side but the closing track “Sairo” is really quite a beautiful song. I put this one as solid Sunday morning selection for quite times.
