Flying somewhat under the radar this year is the excellent release from Ottawa’s Slow Dawn on Cardinal Fuzz (UK) and Centripetal Force (USA). Inside The Machine Haus draws on darker influences creating a kind of loud whirling dervish of sound in the vein of the more classic and experimental side of Loop with a good touch of motorik rhythms. Loads of distortion and steady driving beats and basslines permeate the six tracks on this EP. Do keep in mind that this is a 22-minute EP but it’s well worth it. Play Loud!
