By now most have caught on to the elusive and reclusive Trees Speak. The Krautrock-inspired group from Arizona creates a style of music that borrows heavily from classic Krautrock electronics, Can, and modern modular synth trends. “Vertigo Of Flaws: Emancipation of the Dissonance and Temperaments in Irrational Waveforms” is the official title of their fourth release in less than a year. The only problem with their releases is finding them since they are released on Soul Jazz Records out of London. The label is weak on promotion and consistent distribution so titles may or may not appear anywhere at any point so when you see a copy grab it. Should you miss out you can often have a chance later because it will show up in a local shop in 6 months. At a massive 31 tracks for this Double LP with a bonus 7″, I’m not going to do a track by track but safe to say you’re going to get a lot here. With each Trees Speak release the tracks don’t really follow any kind of pattern. In this case, the lack of consistency is refreshing as long as you are a fan of all the directions they take. One minute you’re listening to experimental analog percussion Can inspired jams then your listening to something resembling the Stranger Things soundtrack before moving to classic Klaus Schulze inspired ARPs and sequencing. There’s also a touch of film noir style and post-punk here. I can’t get enough of this stuff. If you want to hear some samples you will have to head to YouTube or the Sounds Of The Universe page since there is no Bandcamp presence or Spotify listings yet. You can however find their earlier works on Spotify. I strongly urge you to dive into the rabbit hole on these guys if analog electronics is your thing.

I grabbed my copy from Juno but you can also get it straight from Soul Jazz using their Sounds Of The Universe Page.
