Recorded live in 2020 just before the lockdown started Recklinghausen catches the spacey jam band in prime form. Pulled from two sessions on a dreary night evening at the tiny Creative Outlaws Club the double session allowed the band to really get the creativity going. The tracklist on the LP is different than on the digital release as there are 4 original tracks all over 28 minutes in length. The LP features two tracks “Experiment RH XX 3a” and “Experiment RH XX 3b” Which I assume are excerpts from the original 4 tracks but I wasn’t able to compare well enough. They may be two shorter pieces. Either way, the sound here is very much bootleg quality and to be honest, seems to work much better through headphones. The material here is top-notch though. Nothing too out of control just the kind of repetitive groove that the band is known for with some solid guitar work. I admittedly mostly listen to the FLAC downloads from Bandcamp for the uninterrupted experience while gaming. Killer long jams if that’s your thing. This is definitely a band that should be seen live. Wish this was a Double LP. Still, a few copies are left at Little Cloud which is amazing. Their stuff usually sells out fast and collects high prices on Discogs.
