Centripetal Force(USA) and Cardinal Fuzz(Europe) will be releasing the latest effort from New York’s guitar duo Elkhorn. A sister release from the Storm Sessions released earlier this year on Beyond Beyond Is Beyond, The Acoustic Storm Sessions is comprised of two tracks that highlight their improvisational skills. Their unique techniques blend well together and you can almost begin to hear a sitar that isn’t there. Recorded while they were snowed in at their studio the recording captures the close-miked session in such a way that you hear every little squeak of the strings, which only adds to the intimate feel of the recording. In my world, this is Sunday morning coffee music at it’s finest but it will do just fine for sunsets too.
