Landing somewhere between psych and shoegaze with a touch of classic rock this Brazilian duo creates a beautiful tapestry full of quality reference material. “Bright Colors In The Sky” brings a definite Black Angels vibe. Love Witch is a much more classicly 60’s influenced psych vibe with the keys and vocal treatment. “Bardo Mountain” brings a bit of that classic “Western Style”guitar twang to the party. “Surrender” is a beautiful piece that touches a bit on the Velvets or Galaxie 500 or maybe even a touch of JAMC. Empty box hits that Mary Chain feeling again with the pounding tribal rhythm. “Holy Place” finishes off the LP with the most shoegaze-like tune. This is a well-rounded record and it is solid all the way through. I’ll be honest I have heard this described as being too much like a Black Angels record but I do not get that at all except for maybe one track They really do hit a variety of different vibes but manage to chart their own course successfully on this record. I can’t wait for my vinyl copy to arrive.
