New York duo The Vacant lots worked, for the most part, across the country in these Pandemic times to complete their third proper LP “Interzone”. The Vacant lots straddle somewhere between psych and electronica producing a kind of hypnotic, danceable, fuzz vibe. I have seen a lot of references to Anton Newcombe regarding this release but I would have to go more with Suicide on any comparisons. The record is both dark in its isolationism concept and yet has a certain bounce to it like many of the later, more synthetic JAMC releases or perhaps a bit of 80’s Soft Cell. Definitely a late-night party record.
