This one was somewhat of an impulse buy to round out an international order and I’m glad I picked it up. I know almost nothing about this band and finding information has proven to be tough. I do know they are based in France.
The Ep features 4 tracks on 180g black vinyl with each side introduced by a brief spoken word piece. Each track is approximately 6 minutes in length and each side show a different approach to their sound. Side one, as the titles “Samskara” and :Mantras” suggest, is comprised of two similar eastern based sitar drone pieces with primal drum feel. Side two takes a more western approach to sound that recalls some of the music coming out of San Francisco in the early 80’s. Think Glorious Din, World Of Pooh or Spahn Ranch. Heavy bass lines with the pounding tribal rhythm and that low twangy guitar. Check it out on their Bandcamp page where I think is the only place you can currently get the vinyl.
