last year while wandering around the back patio at the Fuzz Club festival i noticed a number of cool Yuri Gagarin shirts and I wondered a bit who this band was that seemed to have a fair number of fans at this event. It took me a while to finally get around to listening and also a fair amount of getting used to the harder side of the psych/stoner rock scene toget me to the point where i actually purchased the latest effort from this hard rocking outfit.from Sweden.

The album starts of with a frontal space guitar assault of QSO. This aint no Sunday morning tea record. Track two brings us somewhat closer to earth with Oneironaut, a longer (13 minutes) much more subdued track with a motorik beat and more familiar Krautrock roots. creating a bit more of a trippy environment.

Side two kicks off with Crystal Dunes bringing us back to those high flying guitar solos, pounding rhythms and build ups to an epic conclusion. Laboratory 1 again takes us to a new place. A short four minute piece that, for me, recalls a bit of the dark ambient music i used to listen to. Completely lacking in any kind of rhythm its more of a sound exploration. We close out with the title track featuring the same frantic pace as some of the previous tracks providing a fitting conclusion for our journey to outer space. Now it’s time to checkout the back catalog to see what i’m in for.
