Ottawa Psychfest III can’t get here soon enough and this album is certainly one of the reasons. Dead Sea apes have put together an extremely powerful release with Rewilding. Bombastic and noisy, Rewilding captures the band in peak form as power trio. Primal, ritualistic drumming, pounding basslines and focused guitar work create a dense sound but not so dense that the details are blurred out of focus. There are no dud tracks here and the flow of the album keeps you engaged all the way through. It’s dark, it’s heavy, it’s loud and this is probably the reason that this is one of the more posted albums of late.
