Dead Sea Apes and The Band Whose Name Is A Symbol, two bands on my must have list with each release. What could go wrong? nothing in this case. Two long tracks, one by each band on each side. The Dead Sea Apes track “Lunar Mansions” starts of as a long drone that slowly finds a sort of rythm with some piano as the keys and cymbals work their way in. The track slowly builds and builds giving way to a wall of sound and drumming creeping ever closer to a catharsis but leaves you waiting for some kind eruption that cruelly doesnt quite arrive. Devious bastards! Wheres part 2?
The Band Whose Name Is A Symbol, now a 9 piece from Ontario contributes an outstanding extended jam called Pantheon Of Fuckery III. Recorded live in 2022 the track features a driving rythm section and a wash of keys and guitar that ebbs and flows and builds and slows as takes its twists and turns and just when you think its done and the last bycycle bell chimes it picks back up for the conclusion. Another solid jam by TBWNIAS.
Sold out at Cardinal Fuzz but you can still get copies from Feeding Tube Records (USA)
