I honesty don’t know why Domboshawa doesn’t get more love. The albums are always excellent and Efterglans is no exception. The sixth full length from Sweden’s multi-instrumentalist, Anders Broström. From the opening driving bassline of “Destruktiv Fritid” you know your in for a nice ride. “Mariposa” slows things down to a nice steady pace with a classic spacey guitar carrying the load. “Siljans Brygga” lets the bass do the work with some nice spacey keys and effects. “Grönt Ljus” , the longest track at over 10 minutes picks up the pace slightly and again is very bass driven with some fuzzy celestial guitar guitar work. “C14” changes the pace to an almost bluesy bass line and a “dubby-like” rhythm with synth strings for a nice change before closing the LP with a more experimental ambient piece “Pixel Dreams” which is more of an electronic drone with some bass work over the top and light percussion. The record is definitely very bass oriented for space rock which tends to add heavy layers of jammy guitar over the top but here the guitar is less of a driving force keeping a far more laid back approach which is quite nice.
