Korb has been on somewhat of a tear lately with album releases and splits. So much so that I still also have to get to reviewing the splits with Kombynat Robotron and AHAA. Here we focus on III the latest album release on Dreamlord Recordings. Korb are masters of electronic space jams and this one doesn’t disappoint. From the opening notes of “Remote Viewer”, which serves as somewhat of an intro, you know this is going to be good with its classic Kosmische vibe. “Korb’s Third Android” takes on a funky vibe with a groovy percussion beat with its retro keys and phases. “Hunter” and “Lords Of Nazca” pick up the pace combining harsher tones and solid percussion adding a bit of tension and aggression. With “Temples of Mars” we get quick peak back into 70’s Berlin School sequencing. “Ritual For the Gods” chugs along at a Trans Europe Express pace that just keeps building and building. “Infrared” funks things up again with a heavy fuzz bass riff. “Robots Of The Ancient World”, which is probably my favorite track, reminds me of a more prog approach of something like Pink Floyds “One Of These Days”. We close out the record with two classic sounding electronic pieces, “A Rare Bird” and Cosmic Dawn, the latter which serves as a perfect outro. Definitely a release you will want in your collection if you into the electronics. The tracks are truly timeless. As 2022 closes we are being treated to many of the best records of the year and this one doesn’t disappoint.
