The second release on the collab label Altered States (Centripetal Force and Cardinal Fuzz) with design by Dead Sea Apes’ Brett Savage. Bobby Lee, who you may know from his country psych-folk electronica album Origin Myths, has released some earlier tracks from his musical development. A kind of darker electronica produced on cheaper equipment giving some of those classic Casiotone drum sounds. There’s a low-fi home recording vibe here which kind of adds to the mood being created. There are influences from all over the place on these tracks from classic 70’s jazzy vibes to German electronica or even Depeche Mode on “Agave”. Recorded between 2015 and 2016 this has much more of an 80’s feel to it. Kind of a time capsule within a time capsule.
The album was released in a super limited issue of 100 through Cardinal Fuzz and Centripetal Force on a new collab series under the label moniker Altered States. Packaged in a folded paper risograph printed sleeve and is limited to 100 hand-numbered copies. Sold out at Cardinal Fuzz but a few copies are left at Centripetal Force.
