Last night was a big night for Facebook Live streaming and featured some inspired performances across the music spectrum. I wanted to point out a few that stood out in our general area of focus here as well as a few other personal favorites from last evening.

Ian McGlynn from the Psych Lovers Facebook group put together a nice evening featuring Tren Go! Sound system followed a bit later by Glascow’s own Helicon. Tren GO! got off to a rough start with some crazy sound issue but it finally was resolved and things got trippy with the lights show provided by Luminose Asthetik 3000. Tren Go! stream

Helicon followed a couple hours later with a couple streams going providing different views of their performance. Helicon is a band I am familiar with but I really do need to become more aquainted with their work as their latest LP is really good. Again some technical difficulties with bandwidth to get going but once we all found Seb Cam we were treated to some excellent tunes.

Sandwiched between these two performances was the amazing show put on by Kadavar. Over 10,000 people tuned in live for this top notch home studio? show. The sound and video were simply top notch for this 90 minute set. Kadavar Live. I’m not really familiar with their music but this was a real treat.

Lastly, outside of the realm of The Ominous Drone, was a performance by one of my 90’s alternative favorites Buffalo Tom’s Bill Janovitz. Showing us all how he makes his favorite martini and playing an incredible set of his best tunes. A must see for all BT fans. He will be doing another one next week. Be sure to tune in and donate to the the fund for Boston are music employees. Buffalo Tom

Thanks to all the artists and individuals working to put on these shows to keep the blahs away during these tough times. In each case be sure to donate if you can to the various funds to support these artists and other causes as they are, of course, all out of work right now. Most of these videos linked have contribution pages set up.
